WITT RF Flashback Arrestors provide reliable protection against dangerous reverse gas flow and flashbacks, fully tested in accordance with DIN EN ISO 5175-1. Every unit undergoes 100% quality control to ensure safety.

  • Stainless steel flame arrestor (FA): Large surface area design stops any dangerous flashback entering the device from any direction.
  • Temperature-sensitive cut-off valve (TV): Extinguishes sustained flashbacks well before internal temperatures reach hazardous levels.
  • Spring-loaded non-return valve (NV): Prevents slow or sudden reverse gas flow from creating explosive mixtures in the gas supply.
  • Inlet filter: Protects the arrestor from contamination, extending its service life.

Operation / Usage:

  • Protects gas cylinders and pipeline outlets (hoses and connected equipment) against dangerous flashbacks and reverse gas flow.
  • Can be installed in any position or orientation.
  • Only one device should be connected per Flashback Arrestor.
  • Maximum operating temperature: 60 °C / 140 °F.
  • Compatible gases: acetylene, town gas, natural gas, LPG, hydrogen, oxygen, compressed air (other gases available on request).

Maintenance:

  • Annual checks are recommended for the non-return valve, body leak-tightness, and flow capacity.
  • WITT provides special test equipment on request.
  • Service should only be performed by the manufacturer; the inlet filter may be replaced by trained personnel.
